Introduction

There comes a time when you need a helping hand, you're surrounded and the only way out is to use your intellect or to have something better than the others that gives you the edge. A strong intellect is always a good thing to have, since it will usually get you out of situations that need thought and careful deduction. When intellect isn’t enough, combining it with superior hardware will be the edge you need to rise through the rubble and emerge the victor.

The evolution of gaming is upon us and we no longer have to wait for the software to catch up to the technology. The advent of DirectX 11 has changed the way we immerse ourselves into our virtual worlds. Surroundings are more realistic and react to your every move, wind blows through your hair and you believe it’s actually flowing. Buildings have realistic shadows and their surfaces are no longer flat, light reflects off an object and casts a realistic shadow. Environments, characters and objects surround you and appear to come at you, right out of the screen. All this is achieved with technologies such as tessellation, physics, ray tracing and 3D. Before DirectX 11, some of these technologies existed but could not be implemented into the gaming environment as well, due to the inept characteristics of the software’s basic programming function.

If you are the type that demands realistic game play and loves to crank up the “EyeCandy”, you will not be able to survive on intellect alone; you will need superior hardware to generate the realism. You will need that one piece of killer hardware to generate enough frames per second to ensure smooth gameplay while ensuring your immersive experience is memorable. NVIDIA quite possibly has developed the solution, a Dual GPU video card called the GeForce GTX 590.
