Introduction

W ith the current state of the US economy in the toilet, watching every penny is on a lot of people’s mind. If you are a gamer, most times that is not possible as you want the best available performance, and that usually comes with a hefty price tag. When you find the delicate balance between price and performance, it can certainly bring a smile to your face. AMD has been behind the ball a bit on the last series of graphics cards in the Green vs Red race (nVidia vs ATi). With the 4xxx series ATi is looking to regain some lost ground across all platforms, and the 46xx series is the mid range category.

The Palit Radeon HD 4670 Super is aimed squarely at the budget minded gamer, looking for decent performance in today's games. It's small foot print (just 7" long) and minute power consumption (~60W) the card is small enough for HTPC duty, yet powerful enough to get your game on. The Radeon HD 4670 core (RV730) is basically a die shrink of the HD 3870/3850 core (from 65nm to 55nm) with the same features. The HD 4670 has 320 stream processors, 512MB GDDR3 memory on a 128 bit interface. The icing on the cake is the connection variety that Palit has selected.

The Product

The Palit Radeon HD 4670 Super comes packaged in box slightly larger than the card itself. Frobot is proudly displayed across the front of the box with his trusty blaster in hand. Flipping the box over reveals a quick spec sheet in various languages.
