Page 1 of 16 IntroductionIf you are reading this article, chances are you have built your own system and handpicked components that specifically fit your needs and budget, at the time. The majority of PC users, however, buy pre-built systems from large store chains or their local computer store. For these users, building an entire system might be too intimidating, although some of them might choose to upgrade a component or two to increase performance, possibly for gaming. Unfortunately, a lot of the pre-built systems sold in large store chains do not come in a standard ATX mid-tower form factor. A lot of them come in small-desktop or slim ATX form-factors, which limit the upgradeability options for the user, should they choose to add or replace a component, like a video card. Also, most of the low-profile video cards available are designed to be ultra low powered, therefore do not have the same horse power as a full-sized GPU.
Users who want to add a more powerful video card into their small Home Theatre PC also face a similar dilemma. Noise and heat from a full-sized, powerful graphic card does not mix very well with the cramped, claustrophobic conditions inside a typical HTPC system. That is why video cards marketed towards this segment are usually passively cooled and are not designed to handle heavy graphic workloads, but work just well enough for video encoding and basic graphic tasks.
PowerColor has packed all the power of a full sized video card in the HD 5750 Low Profile GPU, designed specifically for height-restricted cases. The PowerColor AX5750 1GBD5-LH Low Profile Video card is perfect for adding mainstream gaming and graphic performance to small-desktop and HTPC systems. With its dual-fan design, the PowerColor 5750 Low Profile can keep things cool during the most intense gaming sessions and while housed inside the most cramped conditions.
