Page 1 of 8 IntroductionSome things just seem to be reliable and unchanging. The sun rises every morning, chocolate chip cookies are the most popular in America and your 1968 console tv will turn on and produce predictably snowy picture. Think about that, with as quickly as technology becomes outdated, television had used the same analog broadcast for over fifty years. Stations came and went, but your trusty old console could receive them.
Then on June 12, 2009 all that changed. The FCC mandated that all high power broadcast stations switch to digital, rather than analog, signal. You could buy a digital receiver for the old console, but without it, it would no longer receive TV. But, why go through all that with the price of new televisions dropping, the sets themselves with screens four times the area and a fraction of the physical size.....and most importantly, High Definition Television? HD TV opened a new world of realism to home entertainment. But what about on the PC, where monitors had been close to HD specs for years?
The Diamond ATI TV Wonder HD750 is a small USB unit that promises to bring all of the advantages of broadcast and cable HDTV to your PC. In addition, the Diamond ATI TV Wonder HD750 has multiple input and software recording capabilities to allow you to bring your old analog media to new digital life. The Diamond HD750 is a digital tuner with a USB interface. Inputs for S-Video, Component Video and stereo audio allows connection of almost any conceivable video device. An included remote control allows for viewing and editing from any comfortable spot you choose, and the included compact antenna allows you to set up for HD TV viewing just about anywhere.
