Conclusion

Price Point

Price: $109.00

 Class: Entry Level

The Diamond Radeon HD 4670 1 GB graphics card is priced competitively compared to other HD 4670 1 GB cards, and fell right in the middle of the prices. I compared the HD 4670 to another HD 4670 and other cards from the entry level category and found that the Diamond HD 4670 performed within expectations.

Performance

The performance of the HD 4670 was good, just about on par with the Sapphire HD 4670 throughout the benchmarks. The output for the HD 4670 1 GB was clear and crisp. There were no problems with the DVI, S- Video, component, or HDMI outputs. The Diamond HD 4670 was quiet to the point of not even being able to tell it was in the case unless you checked visually to see if the fan was moving.

Reviewer's Opinion

The Diamond HD 4670 1 GB performed well and consistently found itself in the higher middle end of the pack of graphics cards being benchmarked. The HD 4670 is also factory tuned, so there is very little room for overclocking, which is ideal for someone who does not want to deal with the frustrations of overclocking the card. I also really enjoyed the fact that the Diamond HD 4670 is quiet and you can hardly notice that it's in the case. Also the HD 4670 is HDCP compatible, which will definitely come in handy if you plan on some Blu Ray play back.

The installation of the HD 4670 was simple and did not require the use of a six pin connector. The driver installation of the HD 4670 by Diamond was also easy. And, while in the benchmarks the HD 4670 1 GB gave a solid performance, by beating out the Sapphire HD 4670 in two of the four benchmarks, and about the same in the other two benchmarks, it comes down to personal preference - if you think the gains by the Diamond HD 4670 merit the extra $20.00 dollars or not.
