Icy Dock MB994SP-4S Quad Bay SATA Mobile Rack for 5.25" Device Bay

Home servers and small form factor builds have a limited amount of space to work with.  Expansion slots are limited to low-profile form factors and there are only one or two drive bays for external devices available. This not only limits the total amount of storage in gigabytes you could use, but since the number of physical drives it can hold is also limited, utilizing RAID for increased performance is out of the question.  There is also the issue of heat and maintaining an operating environment within that small space that can shorten the lifespan of the working components.

Maximizing expansion space, keeping drives in working thermal order and durable enclosures: these are the kinds of issues that a company like Icy Dock works to find solutions for.  With over 10 years experience in designing and manufacturing storage enclosures, Icy Dock now looks to bring expandability to the smaller form factor systems with the Icy Dock MB994SP-4S.

The Icy Dock MB994SP-4S can hold up to four 2.5” drives in a single 5.25” drive bay.  Whether it is low power SSD drives or high RPM platter 2.5” drives, the Icy Dock MB994SP-4S can keep the thermal working environment within optimal levels using a pair of 40mm rear exhaust fans.  Using Icy Dock’s EZ Slide mini tray, swapping drives in or out of the MB994SP-4S Quad Bay 2.5" SATA Mobile Rack or other compatible Icy Dock enclosures is a simple, hassle-free process.
