As enthusiasts, we often spend a lot of time making sure that our computing environment is ideal.  We make sure the room temperature is kept colder than necessary, so our computer components are healthier, and we spend hours managing our cables so air flow is optimal.  The idea of operating our systems in places with a lot of dust and heat is simply unimaginable, although that is exactly the kind of computing environment that some scientists or military personnel operate in.
