I can remember the days of having important information stored on 5 ¼” and 3 ½” floppy disks, stored away in boxes. The trouble with storing important information on a floppy disk is that, over time, information would degrade and sooner or later it would become just a coaster to place your drink on. Then came CDs and DVDs, which worked very well and they even increased the speed in which you could access the information. The only problem with those types of media is they are very easily scratched and rendered useless. Of course we have always had the hard disk drives running in our systems, but unfortunately, they are a tad tougher to take with us when we are becoming increasingly more mobile. Generally, hard drives can fill up quickly with the operating system, office programs and the list of software and files goes on, so what are we supposed to do with all the information we need to store?
