Page 1 of 5 IntroductionI hate cell phones. I love the technology that has gone into them and their capabilities, I just hate that they are technological leashes. If you have a cell phone, then you can be bothered or contacted at anytime, anywhere. People expect you to answer and will get mad if you don't. What happened to the good old days of land lines and answering machines? If you were out of the house, you were focused on the task at hand. If you were busy, the machine would get it and you could respond at some other time. My only solace away from the cell phone is when I am asleep.
One thing that absolutely drives me crazy is watching people on their cell phones while they are driving. I watch as they are completely distracted and miss turns, brake late, try to cut into lanes at the last possible minute, and just generally drive like idiots. Countless studies have been released showing how dangerous it is to drive while using a cell phone. It is just as bad, if not worse, than driving drunk. On top of that, we get the people that think there's nothing wrong with taking their eyes off the road, for extended periods of time, to send and receive texts. I'm glad that here in Wisconsin, texting while driving is now illegal. I feel that cell phones should be banned from cars.
PhoneGuard Anti-Texting While Driving Software looks to help in the fight against bad driving. PhoneGuard is programmed to work with almost every smartphone OS currently on the market. The main feature of the software is to disallow texting and general phone usage while driving. Other included features are general texting blocking through scheduled timers and speeding monitoring with alerts.
