Cyberlink Power Director 10 Review

Article Index

With 2012 fast approaching, and the paranoia about the world ending as prophesied by the ancient Mayans is waning, the time is perfect for a retrospective and an examination of just how we spent the last year. Most of us live exciting lifestyles and, thankfully, we have plenty of means to capture inspiring moments or to document hallmark moments in our lives. Perhaps you are expecting the birth of your first child, like Eric Stemplewski, HTL’s lead reviewer, or perhaps you are about to get married to love of your life, like George Cella, HTL’s CPU cooler review expert. Whatever that important event may be, recording it is just one aspect of keeping that memory intact. The painstaking task of organizing and editing it all together in a presentable manner is where the real work begins.

While there are many free and entry-level digital video editing software available for download, the amount of features and capabilities are often limited and requires users to run different multiple programs to complete a single project.   Professional-grade video editing software, on the other hand, has a steep learning curve and requires quite a bit of training before one can use it optimally. Cyberlink, with their line of innovative audio and video software, aims to bridge that gap with Cyberlink PowerDirector 10.

Cyberlink PowerDirector 10 is a consumer-level video editing software designed to perform like a professional video editing program. PowerDirector 10 features the 2nd Generation Cyberlink TrueVelocity video rendering engine with OpenCL acceleration and 3D video editing capabilities. With Cyberlink Power Director 10, users can capture or import video from a variety of sources, including 3D, DV/HD cameras, webcams and various file formats, while also able to output to different mediums including DVD/BD authoring and online publication.
