Page 1 of 8 Introduction
Knowing what power supply to use for your PC is never an easy decision. What makes a power supply worth buying? Price, appearance, efficiency, cable management? Yes to all the above. Buying the right power supply is a big decision when building or upgrading your computer. Too big of a power supply is overkill and a waste of money, too small of a power supply is going to make your system extremely unstable, causing lock-ups, reboots and corrupted data.
The Thermaltake Toughpower Cable Management 850 Watt power supply has been built with the latest in power supply circuitry and industrial grade components. With specifications such as 87%+ efficiency, power protection and the performance needed for today's demanding computers, the Toughpower line of power supplies have made their competition 'power down'. Going into this review, I thought I had a solid 750 watt power supply, and boy was I wrong - the Thermaltake Toughpower 850 lived up to its name and put mine to shame. I have always known Thermaltake to produce quality products but unfortunately, I have never owned one. There are so many manufacturers out there putting out so many different power supplies that it's so hard to know if one is good (as I thought mine was) or if it's just a numbers game the manufacturer is playing with you. There are, however, outlets for you to make an informative decision, and this review will hopefully help you do exactly that. Has Thermaltake turned me on to their products or turned me off? The answer is simple, but i won't give it away so easily. Please read on to find out.
