With a price point of $99.00 USD, the Thermaltake Lvl 10 M Mouse is in the Enthusiast Gamer category of mice.
The performance of the Thermaltake Level 10M gaming mouse was unbeatable. The feel and responsiveness, coupled with being able to tweak it to your liking and comfort make it ideal for any gamer or computer user, for that matter. Gaming was pleasurable with it, and application use performed well, although desktop use at 8200dpi was far too sensitive.
The Thermaltake Level 10M took the form and shape of the average mouse, but it differentiated itself with the quality and thought that went into the design. The rubberized coating, aluminum base, quality switches, and airflow to keep the palm cool makes this the best gaming mouse that I have laid my hands on. The laser sensor tracked very well on multiple surfaces, including the SteelSeries QCK, ROCCAT Sense, and a smooth desk surface. Hard and soft surfaces of varying colors did not affect the performance of the sensor in any way.
Gaming with the mouse for several hours proved that it was comfortable and kept the palm cool. The non-slip surface was very comfortable and helped to keep the hand firmly in place. Being able to adjust the tilt and height of the palmrest made it even more comfortable for long term use. Adjustment can be made using the included tool or a standard allen wrench, if the tool cannot be found. The quality tactile switches on the buttons made it even easier to use for long periods of time, confirming that the button was indeed clicked. Weight wise, the Thermaltake level 10M felt like it was a fairly ideal weight and was not too heavy to be cumbersome, but at the same time it was not so light that it just flopped around on the desk.
Performing a lift test with the mouse indicated that it has a lift distance of approximately 1mm before it stops sensing movement. The default lift distance is considered to be at the professional level and is adjustable using the included software if you want the mouse to continue sensing for a longer period of time. Many other settings can be customized including the lighting and the function of every button. The four “quick select” sensitivity levels can be altered to meet a user’s preferences or needs. The lighting on the mouse can be changed to seven colors and has three zones that can be set independently. Two LED modes are also available where the LEDs are on all the time and a battle mode where the flashing intensity changes with the clicking intensity.
Overall the Thermaltake level 10M gaming mouse is an amazing piece of hardware, but at $99.00 is geared for the enthusiast or professional gamer. The quality of the design and build are immaculate. The design features a fully customizable design, including the ergonomics of the mouse. All the features worked flawlessly and no problems were experienced with the software. The Thermaltake Level 10M gaming mouse earns the HiTechLegion Editor’s Choice Award for its thoughtful design, features, software, quality, and awesome aesthetics.
