AMD's Trinity has been released. If you haven't taken a look, I reviewed their flagship A10-5800K APU here. The new APU has proven to be a very good multimedia contender. While still a tiny bit sluggish in the CPU computing, the performance has improved. People will be looking to use this platform for mainstream computers. HTPCs will get a big boost from the hardware acceleration, specifically AMD APP and OpenCL programs. Gamers are going to like the improved iGPU performance. The overall computing experience has been improved from the previous "Llano" generation.

The MSI FM2-A85XA-GD65 looks to lead the pack with the latest Trinity release. The MSI FM2-A85XA-GD65 contains the latest A85X chipset that was made to complement the performance increase gained with the latest Trinity APUs. The MSI FM2-A85XA-GD65 uses the new FM2 socket. MSI loaded this board with their Military Class III hardware for exceptional stability and longevity. The internals contain eight SATA 6GBps ports, DIMM support up to 1866MHz, two 16x PCI-e slots, two 1x PCI-e slots, and two PCI slots. Back I/O connection contains a legacy PS/2 port, four USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, VGA connection, Display Port, HDMI, DVI, optical, and six 3.5mm audio jacks. Onboard audio uses the Realtek ALC892 8-Ch high definition CODEC. The Gigabit LAN is a Realtek 8111E Ethernet controller. MSI has bundled their signature software, as well. MSI Control Center, Click BIOS II, Audio Genie, Video Genie, Teaming Genie, Network Genie, Live Update 5, and Super Charger are all included. OC Genie II has also been installed for fast and easy overclocking, either through the BIOS or through the onboard button.
