Introduction

RAM. No, I’m not talking about some Dodge pickup that gets 3 mpg, I’m referring to Random Access Memory. RAM provides a location where your computer’s CPU can quickly read and write data. More RAM means more space where this data can be stored, and less often your computer will need to read information (at a much slower rate) from your system’s hard drive. Adding RAM can have a large impact on system performance. Considering that prices have fallen dramatically as of late, RAM can be an attractive upgrade for today’s budget conscious computer users.

The EM Series is Mushkin’s entry level of Performance Enhanced Memory, providing a cost effective solution for the typical PC user. The Mushkin Enhanced DDR2 EM2-6400 4GB kit consists of two unbuffered 240-Pin Double Data Rate (DDR2) Synchronous DRAM Dual In-Line Memory Modules (DIMMs), organized as a dual-bank high-speed memory array, and rated 5-5-5-18 at 800MHz. The Enhanced Memory (EM) Series is spec’d to JEDEC standards to ensure maximum compatibility, and includes an integrated heat spreader which eliminates localized hotspots, enhancing product lifetime and overclockability. The Mushkin Enhanced EM2-6400 modules, as with all Mushkin products, carry a lifetime warranty.

The Product

The Mushkin Enhanced DDR2 EM2-6400 4GB memory module kit comes packaged in a convenient, re-closable clam-shell case. The front package features the characteristic Muskhin logo as a background, and it includes the tag line “Get more.” in the upper left corner. This, of course, refers to Mushkin’s slogan, “with Mushkin you get more”. The back of the package lists straightforward installation and troubleshooting instructions, and has the additional tag line, “Enhancing the experience.”
