Page 1 of 9 IntroductionYa down with B.E.M.P.? For those of you wondering what it is, it’s not a 90’s rap song. B.E.M.P. stands for Black Edition Memory Profile and it is a profile (XML) for system memory that the memory’s manufacturer develops and uploads to AMD's master server, which contains a script, accessed through AMD Overdrive, to enhance the system performance of those who are using AMD Black Edition processors. B.E.M.P. has its benefits and, unlike XMP (Intel’s memory profile), it is not placed in the chip's SPD, allowing the memory manufacturer the ability to change the profile at anytime, if they develop more enhanced settings. The major benefit of the B.E.M.P. is that the work of fine tuning your system's memory is done for you, with just a click of a button, after you download AMD Overdrive. Patriot Memory has manufactured a line of B.E.M.P. Memory as part of their Gamer Series modules.
The Patriot Memory DDR3 Gamer Series for AMD Black Edition is Dual Channel DDR3 memory and is available in both DDR3 10666 1333MHz and 12800 1600MHz. You also have the choice of Latencies for both Enhanced and Low; the enhanced latency kit comes with timings of 9-9-9-24 at 1.8V and the low latency kit with timings of 7-7-7-20 at 1.7V. These memory modules are targeted towards the enthusiast/overclocker level of users. |
