Page 1 of 7 IntroductionThe QWERTY arrangement on the keyboard wasn't a fluke. Originally, the first typewriter was made with an ABC method that lined everything up in order. This caused an issue. When typists worked at rapid pace, they ended up jamming the keys because the position clashed. In order to help fix this problem, the QWERTY arrangement was used. This arrangement was intended to help slow down typists by splitting up keys for commonly used letter groups so that the mechanical links didn't clash and jam. It helped tremendously for typewriters and ended up becoming the standard for keyboards we use today.
Today, the typewriter is all but a relic of the past. Everything is digital and computerized. Word processing programs have become a staple and are standard in every aspect of life, from school to business. Most schools have a typing class as a requirement. When it comes to computers, the one peripheral that gets the most use is the keyboard. So it is essential to purchase a keyboard that is not only functional, but ergonomic.
The Arctic K381 combines a bit of style and functionality. The K381 is constructed with an ultra slim and compact design. The keys come with a low resistance to allow for easy typing without fatigue. There are 12 office function keys included. The K381 also has a few multimedia controls for volume. The color options offered are black and white.
