Page 1 of 9 IntroductionThere is nothing more enjoyable than the feeling of smooth metal along one’s fingertips to keep focused. We build computers with care, picking each part using careful attention after long thought and consideration. Yet many of us still can’t bring ourselves to go for a keyboard that is any more than that ratty clunker we have moved from build to build. Still, you cannot deny: the keyboard still ends up being our primary connection to our creations. So why do we not look at it with more importance? Playing PC games for years, I remember that first time I used a quality gaming keyboard and the difference it made.
Every once in a while, we find a device that brings those feelings back. Building a keyboard from the ground up with gamers in mind means that it will exemplify many of the common tweaks to the genre, while improving and inducting new ones that streamline our input. Such innovation can be noted here the second you catch a glimpse, yet are truly appreciated the moment your fingers first slide across.
The Saitek Cyborg V.7 keyboard is a quality example of everything a gamer needs. Keeping this in mind, the Saitek Cyborg keyboard brings many great ideas together. Being a gamer, you tend to notice the wear and tear we put our devices through. Saitek solves for this by including metal plated key caps in the high traffic areas: WASD, arrow keys and the spacebar. At first, I thought this was simply to make them more durable, but I soon found it created a new means of finding my gaming keys. With the addition of 12 programmable macro keys, touch sensitive controls, and adjustable lighting that only begin to scratch the feature list of the Saitek Cyborg, it’s hard to find something they forgot to include here.
