Page 1 of 14 IntroductionSome people just don't have the means to do an overhaul on their computer in order to keep it current. Many already did an overhaul over Christmas. The cost of a basic overhaul means a new CPU, RAM, and motherboard. Depending on brand loyalties and preferences, costs can start around $200. Heck, I just looked at Newegg now, and piecing together a mainstream upgrade, I see around $300 dollars for a decent system upgrade. In today's economy, that is a lot of money.
USB3.0 is a new technology. There are only a select few motherboards that have been released recently that support USB3.0. It was only this January that 17 products were announced at CES to have USB3.0 Superspeed support. Now, they are flying out of the gates. However, there is a problem. Not everyone has a USB3.0 system yet. Heck, it was only about a week ago that I even had a system that supported USB3.0.
The Sharkoon USB3.0 (SuperSpeed) Host Controller Card is an affordable option to add USB3.0 capabilities to your system. The Sharkoon USB3.0 Controller Card fits into any existing PCIe-x1 motherboard slot. The only extra requirement for the Sharkoon USB3.0 card is a spare 4 pin Molex power connector.
