Page 1 of 6 IntroductionThere are plenty of input devices in the market that are supposedly aimed for the budget conscious and designed to be a “no-frills” gaming mouse. Every manufacturer’s definition of what features a basic or entry level gaming mouse should have, however, varies quite a bit. Some have limited the amount of buttons to just two, with a clickable scroll-wheel, while outfitting a high-end sensor. Some have understated looks and are budget-priced but are multi-featured and customizable. The answer is probably somewhere in between, where the price and performance meets the expectations of most gamers.
Cooler Master’s CM Storm e-Sports brand is relatively new to the market but has already amassed a sizable following worldwide, with their range of award-winning gaming oriented peripherals and cases. CM Storm’s Spawn claw-grip gaming mouse hit the market early in 2011 and surprised everyone with its odd but effective shape. There were a few mice available in the market for claw-grip users at that time but none were designed to be as comfortable and natural feeling as the CM Storm Spawn. While the CM Storm Spawn is reasonably priced for mainstream users, Cooler Master announced that they are making a simpler version of the CM Storm Spawn aimed for users on a budget.
The CM Storm Xornet is a basic gaming mouse designed for claw-grip users. The CM Storm Xornet’s shell is essentially a black version of the CM Storm Spawn but internally, the CM Storm Xornet is outfitted with the Avago ADNS-3050 optical LED sensor, with adjustable DPI settings of 500, 1000 (default) and 2000. Similar to the CM Storm Spawn, the CM Storm Xornet features long-lasting Omron micro-switches with a lifetime span of 5,000,000 clicks. Whether you are an e-Sports athlete or just a hardcore gamer, the CM Storm Xornet will fit your needs and your budget.
