Page 1 of 6 IntroductionKeyboards were created as a way to interact with the computer, making it the first and still the essential method to go with. Even with the advancement of capacitive touch technology, such as tablets and phones, the keyboard is still king of the hill, as far as an interface goes. The basic placement and design of the keyboard is unchanging and was taken from the typewriter that was replaced, along with many other devices, by the computer. Now, though, there is more movement to enhancing the keyboard.
We see the expansion of how the keyboard can be enhanced for gaming. Gaming today is taken seriously by some, while others use it as a way to escape or a way to enjoy and have some fun. These types of keyboards allow optimal interaction, with some going for convenient features, others for high performing devices. With this in mind, this is a great benefit for gamers and average users alike.
The Microsoft Sidewinder X6 Gaming keyboard is made and designed with both convenience and performance in mind. The Sidewinder X6 comes with a switchable key pad, allowing for left or right side configuration. In addition, there are also 30 programmable macro keys available. This can be expanded with two gaming profile modes, allowing for different customization. That is a lot of keys to use for gaming. The X6 also has a built in mode switching from the standard to two gaming modes.
