We are living in a world where everything seems to be running in hyper speed. 24 hours just does not seem to last as long as it used to. Now, of course, science would be able to disprove that idea, but many people's days are just packed with more and more stuff to accomplish. In a sense, 24/7 access to technology is a big part of why our days are so much more packed, especially things like social networking. All these things combined put me personally in time crunch and it is important to prioritize my tasks accordingly. But how do you fit in gaming time?
The passion for gaming seems to be something that just does not fit into the schedule anymore. So instead of going to quantity of time, I am looking for the best quality gaming sessions I can get. What that involves for me is time spent on a PC, playing on the highest settings possible at respectable frame rates. Thirty frames per second and above are what I consider acceptable, because anything below that and the eye can start to detect the stuttering. But why not aim even higher? Aiming for a higher framerate, of course, means spending more money on higher power GPUs, or do you just make sure you get the best bang for your dollar?
The Gigabyte Radeon R9 270X OC edition is a factory overclocked version of AMD’s R9 270X graphics offering. The factory overclock on the Gigabyte R9 270X is coupled with Gigabyte’s Windforce 3x cooling solution, decreasing noise, and increasing its ability to remove heat from the GPU core. The Windforce cooling solution for this GPU features three fans and utilizes “Triangle Cool” technology. The R9 270X supports Crossfire configurations, Eyefinity, and is one of the first cards available to support Ultra HD 4k resolutions. The core clock speed is set to 1100 MHz, which is 50 MHz above reference speeds, and 1400 MHz on the memory. The GPU has 2048MB of GDDR5 memory located on a 256-bit interface to prevent bottlenecks with the most demanding software. For further tuning, Gigabyte also provides their OC GURU II software and it comes with a 3-year warranty, to boot.
