Page 1 of 12 IntroductionI like a good first person shooting game just like anyone else but there are so many out there and they all tend to wind up feeling the same during the storyline and game play. It seems that you are either fighting Nazis in WWII, terrorists in the modern day, or aliens in the future. The levels are very linear in nature and you follow one specific plan to achieve the set outcome of the game. Well, every once in a while, a game comes along to break the mold and sometimes even manages to wow you with some new ideas. Enter Nvidia’s PhysX and the new game from 8monkey Labs, Darkest of Days.
This past April, NVIDIA announced that, as well as developing new APEX modules, such as Turbulence, Destruction, Vegetation and Clothing (Multi-Platform scalable dynamics platform), they have also made agreements with many game developers to produce video games which include the PhysX Apex modules.
Darkest of Days displays a remarkable level of graphically intense eye candy that nails the PhysX components perfectly. Darkest of Days not only features this astounding technology, but also provides a unique approach to the tried and true first person shooter methodology in gaming. |
