The CoolIt ECO ALC CPU CoolerThe packaging of the CoolIt ECO is simple and minimalist, yet still stylish and attractive. The box is gloss white with all black lettering and line art.The front of the box has the ECO logo taking up the majority of the surface area, with much smaller CoolIT and A.L.C. logos. Below this there is a simple socket compatibility listing. On the rear of the CoolIt ECO box there is a basic Specification and Feature listing along with a simple drawing of the pump illustrating ease of installation. A separate box on the rear of the box gives a description of CoolIt's commitment to offering top grade cooling solutions. The top and bottom of the CoolIt ECO packaging each has a line drawing of the entire unit laid out, with bubble style notes pointing out key features on the ECO.
Opening the box of the CoolIt ECO reveals a full styrofoam shell protecting the ECO from damage. This is especially important for the radiator, which has thin fins which would be susceptible to shipping damage. There is a small cutout in the styrofoam which houses mounting hardware in a separate compartment. The CoolIt ECO comes fully assembled right out of the box. Two hoses run between the pump/contact block to the radiator which already has the fan installed. Aside from simple mounting hardware, no assemble of the CoolIt ECO is required.
Taking a closer look at the CoolIt ECO cooling block/pump shows a very compact design. The entire unit measures out at only 60mm x 48mm x 30mm, just a small fraction of even a smaller air cooler. The smaller size is also very functional installed in the case, allowing much greater airflow by simply not being in the way. The top of the pump is contoured with the ECO and CoolIt logos in white. Four thumbscrews are located just off the corners of the CoolIt ECO pump that screw directly into the backplate for easy and secure mounting. The thumbscrews are adjustable to fit multiple socket mountings. The rear of the pump has the two hose fittings attached. The fittings are at a ninety degree angle, and swivel to meet the best hose angle for your installation. The pump draws cool liquid from one hose across the cooling block. The liquid is then pushed through the other hose to the radiator where it is cooled. The contact area of the pump is smooth copper with a coating of CoolIt Pro ATC thermal paste already applied. A three pin fan connector is at the end of a short wire to provide the pump with power.
