Just recently, I was approached by my uncle to build him a new computer. He told me that he really only had a budget around $400. Naturally, I went to work piecing together what I could from the parts that I had. Going off of retail prices, I was able to build him a Llano system that hit about $340 dollars. However, this was without a hard drive, as prices are ridiculous at the moment. I thought I had everything ready to go, but then it dawned on me that I forgot to add one crucial component, the CPU cooler. I had priced everything without the CPU cooler coming to mind, as I am used to retail boxes that come with one. For this build, I would be using an existing processor without a retail box or stock cooler.
Luckily, there is a whole gambit of CPU coolers that span just about every budget. I would never recommend a stock cooler to anyone, as I know their performance is barely good enough to cool the processors they come with, so I needed to find a good alternative cooler, at a reasonable price. I also wanted to find a cooler that could offer a little bit more in terms of features. SilenX is a relatively new company to me. I have heard of the name, but never got to test or use a cooler.
