Page 1 of 7 IntroductionOne of my favorite movies has to be the latest Batman, The Dark Knight. Nothing screams awesome action like the Batman movies. Ever since I was a kid, I have been a fan of this dark super hero, from comic books all the way up to the TV series and movies. There was something eminently cool about a hero who was so dark in emotion and appearance, unlike the more flashy heroes, like Superman or the Fantastic Four. Batman always got the job done, while staying out of the spotlight and being the hero behind the scenes.
It seems like this is the case for another all to important hero in the computer world, the CPU heatsink. Without a heatsink that provides that excellent performance behind the scenes, you wouldn’t see the excellent performance in front of you on that high performance, overclocked systems. In a sense, the CPU cooler is that dark hero that no one really sees, but yet you know it is there and helping to save the day. It seems rather fitting that this latest XigmaTek heatsink I am reviewing be named after that dark hero.
The XigmaTek S1283V Dark Knight CPU cooler brings the excellent performance of the S1283 to the Core i7 1366, but with a dark subtlety. The XigmaTek S1283V Dark Knight features the superior performance of the Heat-Pipe Direct Technology. This heat pipe integration fuses the heat pipes directly into the contact base, providing the highest levels of heat transfer. Share this Review |
