Latest News
Urgent orders have caused Taiwan-based solar cell firms to experience increasing capacity utilization rates in January. According to Solartech, capacity utilization rate was around 50% in fourth-quarter 2011 but has increased to 70% in the past month. Recent quotes of solar cells have been around US$0.50-0.52/watt. In addition to the rising capacity utilization rates, the market expects Solartech's January revenues to show significant growth. Solartech noted that December 2011 revenues marked a low point, hence January 2012 revenues will likely reflect the rising orders. Furthermore, February's orders and revenues may exceed January's. Industry sources believe the success of increasing quotes will still rely on customer acceptance.
