" We are looking at the new top tier SSD offering from OWC, the Mercury Extreme Pro 6G 240GB. This drive may sound familiar and it should, as we reviewed it back in July of this year. However, OWC has re-introduced this drive with a different controller and different NAND which essentially makes this a different drive all together. This updated version features a SandForce 2282 controller in place of the previous 2281 controller and Premium Toshiba 32nm toggle NAND in place of the previous Micron Sync 25nm NAND. Is this update going to make a difference to the drives performance? We shall see. " |
