Pro E-Sports Team LGD Vies for $1,000,000 First Prize in PC Gaming Tournament Finals

Razer-sponsored LGD Gaming goes head-to-head with defending champions in richest PC Gaming competition of its kind in the world

SEATTLE, Wash. (PAX Prime) - Sept. 2, 2012 - Team LGD Gaming will compete today against Natus Vincere for a $1,000,000 cash first prize in the finals of the International Dota2 Championships. The five-man LGD team, hailing from China, hit center stage at Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Wash. against the defending Internationals champions, team Na'Vi, at 10 a.m. PDT.

"E-Sports is the pinnacle of gaming, where the most skilled players on the planet push the limits of what's possible in online competition, and where the instruments they rely upon are proven under the most demanding conditions imaginable," says Robert "Razer Guy" Krakoff, president of RAZER USA, a leader in high-performance gaming products and sponsor of Team LGD and six of the othet 16 teams in the tournament.

"This is where gaming computers, mice, keyboards, headsets and software are validated. This is where our passion for gaming and support of gamers is fully expressed in the hands of the world's greatest players."

TOURNAMENT BACKGROUND:

The International Dota 2 Championships—a PC gaming tournament with a $1,600,000 prize purse—the richest competition of its kind in the world. First place gets $1,000,000. Razer is sponsoring major teams and supporting them with professional-grade gaming hardware, audio equipment and accessories.

A field of 16 internationally-renowned professional PC gaming teams are taking part in the tournament, which includes the following Razer squads:

- Europe – Counter Logic Gaming, with MouseSports (As backup Team)
- China –EHOME, LGD Gaming (in the finals)
- Southeast Asia – Absolute Legends, Orange ESports, Team Zenith
