NVIDIA Tegra technology Enhances Miracast Wireless Displays

Ever finding yourself wanting to stream high definition video and audio content directly to large screen HDTVs without the need for HDMI cables and an existing wireless network?

NVIDIA is a member of the Wi-Fi Alliance, and the Alliance expected to launch a new standard with the Miracast wireless display certification program within the next few months. This is anticipated to be an open standard, allowing any Miracast certified mobile device to instantly stream to any Miracast enabled display. No doubt that NVIDIA is embracing this technology while bringing Tegra 3's superb multimedia capability to wireless displays.

"At the heart of every Tegra chip is a high-performance CPU and GPU, which means you can use Tegra to play amazing games on the big screen. We’re not just talking about flinging Angry Birds but racing a super-charged jet ski in the game Riptide THD and playing heart-pounding first-person shooter games like Shadowgun THD. You can even take mobile gaming to the next level by pairing a Tegra device with a console controller for the ultimate wireless display experience."

Mike Han also mentions in an NVIDIA blog post, that NVIDIA has been working with various OEM partners and that once the Wi-Fi Alliance ratifies the Miracst spec, more updates will follow. Check out the video clip below to see how Tegra can enhance the Miracast wireless display experience.
