A new focus; a direction in which few may take. A comfortable atmosphere in which to learn, teach, explore, and enjoy. Be one with the many who are always seeking to learn a little more and give back the knowledge that they have acquired. Be a part of the legion where everyone can be enthusiastic about computer technology.
"Our name is Legion; for we are many."
Many of us purchased our first computer because a friend or relative suggested we needed one. That was great so we went out and purchased a computer, brought it home, took five hours reading the instructions on how to hook it up, turned it on, and just sat there and stared not knowing what to do. Most of us then made the dreaded phone call either to tech support which kept us on hold for hours or to the person who suggested we purchase the computer. If we were lucky enough to get through to tech support, we most likely spoke to a level one tech who basically read word for word out of a book that was given them when hired and was told if it's not in the book, escalate the call to level two. After becoming so frustrated with the lack of help, most of us decided to shut the computer off. Now all we had was a piece of expensive hardware collecting dust. So what next? Swallow our pride and call the person who suggested the computer. Yup! They probably came right over and helped us get it up and running. Wow! Now we were ready to surf the internet. Right, surf the internet on that expensive investment. Surfing the internet is great when all we want to do is pass some time, but didn't we purchase the computer to make everyday tasks a little easier? Yes. So what went wrong? Most likely the problem was that our friend/relative who showed us how to use our computer was "computer illiterate" themselves and didn't know much more than surfing the internet, either. So we did one of a few things to help us learn how to use our computers. We took a class, read "computers for dummies," or learned the hard way, which was most likely the path taken by most. Whether we are a novice or an enthusiast there is always much more we could learn. One day instead of purchasing a new computer from the nearest retailer, why not build your own? Our community is here to help everyone with any and all computer needs, from building and modding a new system to learning why there might be an error in our operating system. Our community is a place to come and learn, teach, and have fun while doing it. So it won't matter if you're a novice or an enthusiast, there is no need to fear a computer. Come and join the Legion and be part of the many who share, seek, and gain knowledge!
