Simply putting the last 2-3 reviews/articles from HTL as the top news articles solves the problem. It should be our articles that are presented front and center. Not "here is the news, and down below the page advance (if you get that far) are some articles we did".

No following the Jonses, slideshows are played out. Let them look like they designed their site five years ago.

One of the big problems is that people see "next page" and expect to see nothing further of any worth.

I got the pop up login screen to work in IE8, but for some reason it won't work in Firefox 13. As far as I can determine there is nothing out of the ordinary with my privacy settings. Any help?

My 2 cents worth:

1. Content is the key. Yes, it's great to show the contests, but what is shown is over and done with and should not be front and center on the page. I'd recommend the reviews be front and center. It was the reviews that brought me here. News should be next. Current and relevant information should be in the viewer's face, not historical content.

2. On my screen (22" running at 1680X1050) there appears to be all sorts of wasted space on the left and right. On my screen is 3" frame of grey, 11" frame for the page and another 3" frame of grey. Can the page be stretched to fill the 3" on each side? This would make it more "landscape" instead of portrait and would provide more space for the content and perhaps all the main links to content could appear on one or one and a bit pages.

Contest Accordion removed and replaced by the three latest HTL reviews.
If you have ad blockers on shut them off to view the site correctly.
Mobile site is now working but we will tweak that if a few days.
Site width we can adjust it but are waiting on an update that will not take it out of proportion.

Our last site was 1200 wide and many people complained that it was too wide to see on a laptop that they needed to scroll. When the update arrives we will make the width 1024 or 1100.

This site was developed to make surfing it easy as possible without having to search for different things. We took a lot of input from members and staff in the development.

We were asked for a more modern design (this design is as modern as you can get) and to change the red as well as making everything available with quick links instead of drop downs and to make reviews more accessible. We were asked to integrate the social stuff. AND finally we were asked to make comments available under the reviews.

I think we tried and hopefully did a good job fulfilling these requests.

This is awesome. Very nice changes indeed. Perfect if you ask me. It runs better than ever both the website and forum, nice colours combination, social integration, everything. I`m happy and i must say thank you for all your hard work.

Yep Sure like the way it looks this morning ! :)
Having the 3 latest reviews at the top. Instead of contests. Looks better and is more appropriate for the site [imho]...
anyways having the links rather than the drop downs is refreshing and a bit more modern. Like having the final resolution width margins "[1024 or 1100]"will make it so much easier to navigate on the smaller notebook screens.

Looking forward to reading and sharing with those that participate with the reviews from the Livefyre log-ins too. :)

No doubt that the 'snap' and overall responsiveness on the site will improve as the rest of the tweaking evolves along the way.

Major facelift and looking great !
Thanks ! :D

I agree, looks much better with the most recent reviews first and the contests moved to a link along the top. Site looks great if you ask me, nice job guys.

Here is a writeup about a company that deals with responsive design for web pages (the idea that regardless of the screen size of the viewer, the content from the webpage fills the user's screen). Something to consider for HTL.com
