Wrote the name of the title wrong. Anyways I figure HDD's still have some life span becuase SSD's has areas they need to improve in until they become viable for mass usage. Especially pricing atm.

I guess if we see 3TB ssd's selling for $150, but until that time hard drives will be around.

Until SSD's are known to last multiple years without failure we may never see the Spindle drive depart.
We still don't really know how long they will last. A spindle drives data can be recovered. What about the data on an SSD? Can it truly be recovered or when it fails will the memory discharge the data.

Really do not think that SSDs will totally kill-off mechanical spindle drives since any data lost on a SSD is pretty much gone with the wind. Been getting less and less surprised hearing about some pretty highly ranked SSDs being un-usable and toast after a short amount of time and being used by some pretty savvy users. Noticed too in the last week or so that some of the prices for HDDs is really pretty decent about now, and not all that sure how long that will be until the workers in China will be getting an increase in pay ....next month ??
