Classic FPS Experience - Nexuiz

*** Spotted an interesting post that was getting a bit of discussion on one of the social media sites [FB] this morning and thought to share it here.

"My name is Robert Hallock, and I’m the product marketing manager for the high-end AMD Radeon™ desktop GPUs at AMD. As a gamer, I’m pretty sure I have one of the coolest jobs in the world (just sayin). But I’m only one piece of the puzzle that is AMD’s commitment to gamers, and it is awesome to see the amount of effort being poured into gaming by other hard-working people each and every day. This effort, which we call Gaming Evolved, goes directly into securing performance and technology wins in the hottest DirectX® 11 games, and today I’d like to talk about one of them: Nexuiz, from Illfonic and THQ.

The recipe for Nexuiz is one you may be familiar with: fast-twitch FPSing that plunges you and your opponents into an arena filled with outrageous weapons, and an array of unique power-ups that can radically alter your combat prowess—if not the entire game. I’ve been playing the game on Steam® for a few weeks, starting with the recent beta, and I have to tell you that it’s a recipe cooked to perfection.

Based on the famous Crytek CryENGINE® 3, it also goes without saying that Nexuiz’s ultra-quality graphics settings are phenomenally beautiful and demanding. Just stop for a moment to take a look at how pretty this game is....."
