Stick with old or go new?

I prefer gaming keyboards because they are like playing the piano.
Never liked Mechanical .

Now I have had a chance to read reviews and speak to others who have went back to mechanical I am thinking about.

Should I or shouldn't I?

If you have any thoughts I would love to here then and start a discussion why and what.

I recently received this QuickFire Rapid Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, that I happened to win in a contest on-line & has the Cherry black switches.

Only had the new CM Quick Fire for about a week and the previous keys I was using were the Razer Lycossa for about a year.
no backlit keys which surprises me that I do not actually miss the backlite.
I miss the keypad a bit more.
But one thing I like is the activation and tactile feel and responsiveness of the mechanical keys compared to the Lycossa.
so it could be that a keyboard like the CM Storm QuickFire Pro (Cherry MX Brown) might be a slightly better one with a noticeably lighter activation 50grams pressure on the keys could possibly be a better choice.

Still been wanting to check out the mechanical keyboards anyways since the responsiveness, and crispness are noticeably better. Maybe the overall action is similar to playing the piano with the keystroke activation could be similar to depressing keys on the piano to trigger the hammers inside ? Be interested to hear what you would have to say about that should you decide to give the mechanical keyboards a try.

I think you should try them out.

I've never tried a mechanical keyboard myself so I have no experience with those. I'm currently using a few years old Saitek Eclipse 11 and find it a bit better than the Thermaltake Challenger Pro gaming keyboard I was using. The CAPS lock button stuck on that one.

Is that Saitek the keyboard that has the different choice of colors for the backlit keys?

Pretty sure there is a TT eSports Challenger Ultimate Gaming Keyboard by Thermaltake Review seems that there was a bit of discussion in the ol' forum thread with reference to a bit the tactile piano playing action with that keyboard too slug.

Yes, Blue, Red, or light Purple.

I like the tactile feedback of mechanical keyboards. Might get one with brown/black switches if I have the chance in my next upgrade.

Did you come to the dark side and get a mechanical keyboard or did you stay with a rubber dome/membrane keyboard? ;)

I can't stand typing on membrane keyboards now. The old ones especially feel like typing on a pizza.

Stayed with the gaming keyboard.
I hate the clicks I don't need the feedback to feel that I am typing.
I would rather have ear plugs in than hear the clack clack.
But of course Deanna has a Mech keyboard so I have to hear it every day.
