Hi boys and girls

Any tips to clean of a CPU?

I've got some Ether laying around, will this work?

Ether

It's a solvant for greases...
And because it's thermal grease... you get it right?

generally use 90% or better isopropyl alcohol and [lint free] coffee filters

Or acetone free nail polish remover. I always preferred alcohol.

Why only alcohol? It's just to disinfect no?

And what are 'lint free' coffe filters?

Isopropyl alcohol because it cleans well and evaporates quickly. Its also relatively cheap and available in pharmacies etc. The coffee filters used in drip coffee makers.

Some recommended not using any solvent based cleaners that leave a residue and contaminate the surfaces ..just like using 70% isopropyl alcohol may leave to much of a water based residue.

nope BD sorta made a Nani boo-boo the other day and pm'd him about the post. me thinks he had something about solvent based cleaners instead of good ol 90+++ alcohol;
