Problem with my HTPC

Talk about hardware in general, building a new rig or need to ask an unspecific question.

Sorry for the long post but here goes. Okay, I think I may be getting closer to figuring out the issue. I left it running with monitor off with no reboots for almost a month just recording and streaming from it, no freezing and no errors. As I said in my last post I bought a new HDMI to Mini HDMI cable so last night I plugged that in to my TV and video card thinking since it was on for so long with no problems then maybe I'll be able to use it as I had in the past. I was wrong, I booted up and loaded up SageTV and turned on live TV and I went to sleep. When I woke up I was staring at a black screen. So it wasn't the cable and it's not a sleep or hibernate issue as they are both disabled. So I reboot again and think since it was running so well with the monitor off I'll do that again but using the TV instead of the monitor I brought in to troubleshoot, a recording comes up and I start streaming it as usual but then the recording stops playing on the computer I'm streaming to, first thought was network but everything looked good there so I went to the HTPC and switched back the source to HDMI 1 and it was the blank screen again. Now I've rolled back drivers to the ones slugbug said he was using in another thread since I know he uses 460's in hopes that'll help but now I'm not sure of the driver or software issue.
Could it be that just the Mini HDMI port crapped out? Since even after switching sources on the TV and just letting the computer run still made it go to a blank screen as where on the DVI it ran for close to a month with no issues? Would a good test be swapping out my 460 2Win with a regular 460 and see if there is a change? If my TV had DVI I'd try that but it doesn't so I can't try that. With it running for so long like it did, is there any other ideas? Could it still be PCIe?

Try swapping the video card and if the issue persists try another pcie slot.

I actually got the same black screen doing DVI in a non idle state on the 2Win so after that I took that card out and put the regular 460 inside. It's been 12 days with no reboots and live tv on my small monitor instead of monitor off using HDMI and it's worked flawlessly, later tonight I'll power down and switch it back to my tv for a week or so and if it works then it's what BD said that it's the card. Has anyone had experience with EVGA RMA? Are they easy to work with?

Took me a while to set up the RMA, but they received my card and emailed me today saying my RMA is on hold due to non-inventory of your product. Asked me to call them but when I did they were out of the office and I'm waiting for the call back, wondering how they're going to handle this RMA. Has this ever happened to anyone?

I've heard of people getting an upgrade when the manufacturer runs out of one type of product. I've never experienced it personally though.

The odds are good that they may want to upgrade you to another card or give you the option to wait until stock comes in. I'm currently in that situation with another manufacturer and I opted to wait as the motherboard they offered wasn't comparable to the board I submitted for RMA.

I've only dealt with EVGA RMA once and that was for a 6600 base that I had and they sent me back a 6800GT (Which at the time was amazing!) LoL.

Good luck and keep us posted as to what they wanted to contact you about!
