Seems that both enthusiast and mainstream users are always looking for in-expensive ways to get a little bit extra performance out there rigs. One of the least expensive ways for both the mainstream and professional users is by using a high quality thermal interface material. GELID Solutions announced yesterday, that will be offering it GC-Extreme thermal compound in a 10g containers along with the 3.5 tubes. GELID solutions also added a new premium blend of the highest quality, the GC-Supreme which allows an easier application with the included applicator, aimed at professional users, and is available in 7 gram sizes. The “GC-Extreme 10g” and “GC-Supreme” thermal compounds are available now for a MSRP of $25.99 or EUR 19.99 and $7.20 or EUR 5.70. For additional details, check out the press release that follows.

Had not tried any of the Gelid Thermal compounds myself, but if anyone has used them before or are getting there mitts on some of these newer compounds let us know.

I'm thinking about trying it out. It has had some very impressive lab results. Unfortunately, the cooling isn't the only aspect I can be concerned with. When you change coolers as much as I do, usability plays a huge factor. I would gladly sacrifice a couple of degrees for easy application, no curing time and easy removal. That is a huge NT-H1 advantage over most TIM.

Thanks for the feedback Cella, I would sacrifice a few degrees of cooling potential, for ease of application, with no curing time along with longevity of keeping a thermal interface of a period of time. Some popular compounds like the AS5, have a 200 hour break-in time, and seem to dry out much too soon. While others like the Noctua NT-H1,MX-2,MX-4 Tuniq already fit the bill for my needs and provide that layer that lasts.

Would still be interesting to see how the new GELID TIMs compare, should you check it out.
