Kingston SSDNow SV200S3 Gets Updated Firmware

Here is a bit of a 'heads-up' for those that already have Kingston Solid State Drives particularly the SSDNow SV200S3. Kingston SSD has discovered a technical issue with the SSDNow SV200S3 drives related to intermittent sequential write slowdowns. This firmware update will restore your SSD’s sequential write speed and improve the random read and write performance. A detailed firmware update video, model number information, along with download links follow. Might as well follow along carefully after the break, to find out if this firmware update applies to you.

-------- WARNING - This firmware update will delete all data on your SSD -------

Part Numbers:

SV200S37A/64G, SV200S37A/64GBK, SV200S3B7A/64G,

SV200S3D7/64G, SV200S3N7A/64G SV200S37A/128G,

SV200S37A/128GBK, SV200S3B7A/128G, SV200S3D7/128G, SV200S3N7A/128G

We recommend that you back up your data prior to applying the firmware revision.

Please check your SSDNow for the following number: “E111008a” (see illustration for location).

If you have “E111008a” on your SSDNow and want to improve your drive performance, you should apply this firmware update.

If you DO NOT have “E111008a” on your SSDNow as shown in the illustration, then your drive is up-to-date and you DO NOT need this firmware.

I have Windows installed on mine so I'll have to wait until I reinstall before flashing.

looks like you do have the “E111008a” on your drive. Checked mine and had a different number - 001.A00LF just mentioned because me thinks that we both got the Kingston SSDNow 128GB drives about the same time.

I think I have one of those, I'll have to check but thanks for the heads up ;)
EDIT: Checked through TeamViewer and the update is for my model, too. But why the hell do I need a CD-ROM, who the hell uses these anymore? Guess I'll have to dig for my old IDE DVD Drive.
