The Blockbuster Video near me recently closed its doors. As did the one next closest to me. In a way, I actually found it rather surprising given that they were always busy when I went in and that their incredible quantity of new releases were always out on rental with a waiting list. But, the overall landscape of movie watching has changed dramatically over the last ten years. The way we get our entertainment fix keeps evolving, or perhaps devolving. I’m pretty sure most people would agree that the impact of a movie on the big screen is an entire different experience than your home tv. I really don’t care how big your tv is (honestly, I don’t).

I was really torn on the award for this cooler. For low power HTPC applications, it is a definite Gold Award. It's small, quiet, inexpensive and does a great job on low power CPUs. So, for its specified application, it does an excellent job.

However, as an overall cooler....well, I couldn't even complete stock benchmarks on a Phenom II 980. Temps were in the 60s two minutes into OCCT. Not good. So, as an overall cooler...kind of gets the Aluminum Award.

Maybe the CM Gemini is better suited to cooling processors like the AMD A-series [Llano] in a mini-atx rig.

yeah I see, on the Intel side maybe better than a stock Intel cooler for SB chips like the lower powered S Series i.e. i5 2400S which has a TDP of 65 watts. Still can see your point on the CM Gemini' award and still think that it does pretty good job for the price when uses as intended.

Thanks for the insights & details within the review Cella :)
